HW 5

I would say that eating junk food/ fast food would be in a dominant discourses because it is talked about by people often. The people that are usually in the discourse would be fast food company's because there the one that would be making the junk food. the arguments that would be happening would be blame towards the fast food companys for making unhealthy products and also lowering there prices for the products that they would be making, which makes it cheeper to just go to a fast food place than trying to buy something healthy elsewhere. In the arctle i read "Fixing a World That Fosters Fat" (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/22/business/22stream.html?_r=1&emc=eta1) talks about these things and how we kind of all have to do our parts to start eating health and how its not just the fast food companys felt.

HW 4

When it comes to families food way's i agree that your family is the major ones to really shape how you look at food. when it comes to ethnic culture for me part of it fits for how i eat when it comes to dinner. since i am Hispanic for dinner we tend to eat a lot of Hispanic dish's, some of the dishes we tend to eat would be rice, beans and plantains. this is just the types of food that we usually eat at home, for my grandmother its the same as well these are some of the things she likes to eat as well. my mom and grandmother are pretty similar in what they cook and stuff. for most families i feel that most of the food ways and stuff they eat is just learnt from there family members and what also tends to happen is it changes sightly ever generation but most remain the same. when it comes to prepareing the food everyone in my family takes turns in that its not like one person just does it we all help out in some way. which was a the same for my mother as well when she was growing up she would help my grandmother cook and prepare food and i guess her doing that kind of passed on to me in some way because i tend to help when i can with prepareing food. i think overall your family is the one who shapes your foodways because growing up you learn most of the things about food and what to eat from them than when you get older you can either change what they told you about it or just add your experence about it.

HW 3

the fast food place that we went to was Mcdonalds. what we notice about this Mcdonald than the other ones was that the colors were different than how a normal mcdonalds would look like and also we notice how the music was different as well. Also Mcdonalds is pretty high tech in some ways because there cash register is pretty much a touch screen where the press what you are ordering and tell you the price. When you compare this to the farmers market it is really different reasons being most of the people who were at the farmers market they grow or make everything that they are trying to sell. also they seem a little more friendly when you are trying to buy something. we tryed to talk to the people who worked at Mcdonld if they were happy but they didn't seemed to happy to answer the question they pretty much just ignored as in a way, But when we asked the same question to a person who was selling milk products at the farmers market he seemed more than happy to answer the question he said that he enjoys being here and he gets to meet different people each day he also said how all the products he sells are organic. overall i think that the green market is a much happier and better place than Mcdonalds you can see it in that in the people to when you compare the people who were eating at Mcdonalds to the people in the farmers market you see that the people in the farmers market were much happier.
