Chapter 8
In this chapter it talks about the jobs and how dangerous some are, One major dangerous job is the slaughterhouse many workers that are working in these are immigrants so the working conditions to start off with are not good but another problem that happens with being immigrant workers is that accidents that happen in the slaughterhouse gets covered up and never reported.
"the fine was $480 for each man's death" (178)
when i read this quote i could not believe that a person life would only be worth that much its sad how these big company's can get away with murder in away without worrying about it effecting anything they do, the real victims to this would be the family's of the person who died because they really wont get any justice.
